This concept got more real to me as I immersed myself in the whirlwind of creating a new business identity for myself.

I have been struggling with my decision to take over New Angle’s classes in Orchard, and I am stuck on the WHY I am being a stand for Baptiste Yoga, WHY am I creating a community; WHY am I making myself so busy?

I thought I had it figured out that my life’s work is as simple as writing my blog, teaching yoga and pilates, build a Baptiste Yoga community and being of service.

Then I said Yes to taking over New Angle Yoga’s classes; just these 2 classes on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings, which should be an easy job.

Baron says “Be a yes, and you will know how!”

And so AMI Power Yoga was born!

I said yes, because I needed to carry on the work of expanding the Baptiste Yoga Singapore community,  I need to stand in my Power as a leader and do something that is way out of my comfort zone.

Then I didn’t expect the deluge of negative thoughts that came up that made me small, and took the power away from me.

I started thinking of my failures – my “Newton Gems yoga” classes didn’t get started at all; my retreat and my OM run also did not transpired. I had doubts whether I could be THE GO-TO for Baptiste Yoga; Can I be strong? I got big shoes to fill. I am comfortable teaching at Alpha Balance and Freedom Yoga. I’m only taking over 2 classes not the whole studio. But what would people think? Why am I thinking so much? But I know I wanted much more than the 2 classes. I wanted to inspire others, create a community where I can empower leaders, and lead teacher trainings? Do I have the time to do everything I want to do. It all seems so elusive……….

I wished a magic pill that will calm me down and keep reminding me that “I’m enough!” but hey, I am the magic pill.

I know now what I need to do –

* Clear space for self-care
* Move daily
* Connect with people who cares about the cause
* be in creation
* Prioritise – get rid of one thing that will allow me to focus on what is required.
* Anchor down on my WHY so I can be strong when things get rough, and I lose my confidence, fear creeps up and the voices in my head will say ” What if you fail? What will people say? What if no one comes? What if no one cares?”

I have this post-it-note in front of me that said “DON’T ROCK THE BOAT!” It’s an exercise I had to do at Baptiste Level 2, where our partner wrote down the things I said to myself as I told my story.

BuT my words make my world

I want to get out of my comfort zone. I want to rock the boat. I want to disrupt the order of my world.

I can be a stand for Baptiste Yoga in Singapore. I can vulnerable and embarrass myself. I am great at Instagram, and technology.

I am afraid… of failing! Of not being as Powerful a Baptiste Yoga Teacher as I can be. Of dissapointing myself. I am bad at talking to people and well being vulnerable.

I am afraid but I’m reminded of Marianne Willamsom’s quote:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…….”

I am powerful and I will stand in my power as a Baptiste Yoga Teacher
